One of the best shows of the 1980s, MacGyver has a dedicated fan base even to this day. Richard Dean Anderson plays the role of MacGyver, a cerebral and charismatic agent of the Phoenix Foundation for Research. A different hero even by the standards of today’s TV series, MacGyver had an exaggerated fear of heights.

He was also a pacifist who never relied on weapons, but instead on the ability to deploy his brain and think his way out of dangerous situations. MacGyver’s boss and the best buddy were Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar). Pete regularly sends MacGyver on missions and oftentimes comes to his rescue (mostly in the moments after MacGyver has saved himself and someone else). MacGyver is also often accompanied by his airplane pilot friend Jack Dalton (Bruce McGill) who constantly gets himself and MacGyver into compromised predicaments with his illegal activities and hair-brained schemes. Along with the usual bad guys, archenemy Murdoc (Michael Des Barres) is MacGyver’s constant nightmare. With something interesting always in the works, there isn’t a boring episode of this fascinating series…

The MacGyver (Season 3) DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the season premiere “Lost Love” in which a woman from MacGyver’s past (a woman he once loved) returns to his life. She also happens to be a known Soviet dissident who begs for his help in aiding her escape from the evil regime. But before MacGyver can help, the KGB kidnaps her and demands a priceless artifact as her ransom, leaving MacGyver as the only man who can save her… Other notable episodes from Season 3 include “The Widowmaker” in which MacGyver mourns the death of his friend at the hands of a former enemy, and “Mask of the Wolf” in which Jack and MacGyver aid in the search for an ancient Indian wolf mask while two mercenaries follow their trail…

A unique and different kind of TV action series, MacGyver made its television premiere in the Fall of 1985 to much fanfare. Audiences immediately responded to the title character and his unusual penchant for turning everyday items like chewing gum and paperclips into elaborate life-saving contraptions. In this way, it maintained a slight resemblance to The A-Team, and this recurring plot device helped MacGyver build a strong cult following…

Richard Dean Anderson plays the title role of MacGyver, an energetic employee of the fictional Phoenix Foundation for Research. An unorthodox hero by action series standards, MacGyver has a deadly fear of heights. A pacifist who refuses to use weapons, he relies heavily on his ability to use his brain and tinker with the various materials at his disposal. MacGyver’s best friend and the director of the Phoenix Foundation is Pete Thornton (Dana Elcar). Pete often sends MacGyver on Foundation missions and sometimes comes to his aid (usually after MacGyver has saved the day). In addition, MacGyver is joined on a regular basis by his airplane pilot friend Jack Dalton (Bruce McGill), a man who constantly entangles himself in illegal activities and other troublesome situations. Between the usual slew of bad guys, the vendetta of archenemy Murdoc (Michael Des Barres), and his multitude of troublesome friends, MacGyver is always in the midst of interesting and dangerous events, and the show’s true entertainment value derives from watching MacGyver’s distinctive method of dealing with each one…

The MacGyver DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the series pilot in which MacGyver is forced to race against the clock when a team of scientists is trapped underground after a lab experiment goes awry. Wanting to contain the leak, the Army allows a small time window for MacGyver to pull off his mission before they destroy the facility… Fans will make note of some interesting aspects of the pilot episode such as Dana Elcar’s role as another character, MacGyver’s use of a gun, and MacGyver’s boss is a man named Gantner (Michael Lerner)… Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “Trumbo’s World” in which MacGyver, while on expedition in Brazil, encounters and wages war with a mile-wide column of army ants, and “Every Time She Smiles” in which MacGyver meets up with a beautiful, yet talkative, artist named Penny Parker (Teri Hatcher) and the two must escape the clutches of the KGB…

Far different from the usual television action series, MacGyver premiered in Fall of 1985 to widespread audience acclaim. Fans fell in loves with an action hero who used his brain instead of his brawn to get himself out of jams, and the interesting and elaborate methods deployed by the title character made for interesting water cooler talk. These unorthodox escape plans were very similar to The A-Team, another popular 80s action series. Overall, the first several seasons of MacGyver are the best…

The MacGyver (Season 2) DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the season premiere “The Human Factor” in which MacGyver and the Phoenix Foundation are called upon to test the security of a top-secret military installation. When MacGyver makes a bet with the security designer, Dr. Jill Ludlum, he successfully gains entry, but the automated system traps them both inside (with a dwindling supply of oxygen) where they’re forced to race for their lives against a ticking clock… Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “The Road Not Taken” in which MacGyver encounters his former fiancée while helping a nun, and “Birth Day” in which MacGyver must guard a pregnant woman from her husband, who’s out to kill her…

Acne Diet 8 Acne Diet 9 Acne Diet  Acne 2

If you’ve ever had acne, then you must know how traumatic this affliction must be if left unattended. And because this nuisance manifests in our appearance, it can erode confidence in some folks.

But make no mistake about it, the occurrence of acne is not the rare phenomenon, so when its strikes, you must stop it by all means possible, and thankfully, with the awesome resource at our disposal can enable us to strive for an acne free skin.

Although the correct skin care regimen and appropriate treatment methods are vital in preventing skin blemishes, it is not all about your outside. We should not neglect the internal activities of the body too. This is why acne diets are crucial.

The subject of acne diets might not be strange to you, as it concerns what you eat and how that manifest on your skin.

Some few winters ago I was in a doctor’s office with my wife, who was there for a back ache assessment. During that period I had chapped lips and had requested if the doctor had some lip balm.

Taking one quick look at me, the doctor informed me that my diet has to do with the present condition of my lips. And she explained that taking proper nutritious diets and fluids would prevent chapped lips. This surprised me, but I gave it a shot.

I have stopped using lip balms and my chapped lips are gone. The doctor’s method though sounds bizarre, but it surely worked. And if can work on the lips, it means it can also be applied to the skin.

One fact most people don’t know is that some substance the food we eat are excretes back through the skin pores, and this should make us realize that acne diets are crucial for some persons and that foods such as snacks, that contains high fat and grease are the precursors of acne breakouts.

To maintain proper acne diets, you diet should include fruits, vegetables, organic products, non-processed items, and plenty of water. This acne diet is highly recommended for people grappling with pimples problems.

It will certainly get rid of their skin blemishes. And if you want to know more details about acne diets, you can check the Internet.

In World War II, it took a Sherman Tank an average of 17 rounds to destroy an enemy tank 700 meters away. The Abrams, by contrast, can destroy certain enemy tanks by firing, on the move, a single round from 2,000 meters away.[1] As the Abrams entered service in the 1980s, they would operate alongside M60A3 within the United States military, and with other NATO tanks in numerous Cold War exercises. These exercises usually took place in Western Europe, especially West Germany, but also in some other countries like South Korea. During such training, Abrams crews honed their skills for use against the men and equipment of the Soviet Union. However, by 1990 the USSR had collapsed and the Abrams would have its trial by fire in the Middle East.

The Abrams remained untested in combat until the Gulf War in 1991. A total of 1,848 M1A1s were deployed to Saudi Arabia. The M1A1 was superior to Iraq’s Soviet-era T-55 and T-62 tanks, as well as Iraqi assembled Russian T-72s, and locally-produced copies (Asad Babil tank). The T-72s like most Soviet export designs lacked night vision systems and then-modern range finders, though they did have some night fighting tanks with older active infrared systems or floodlights just not the latest starlight scopes and passive infrared scopes as on the Abrams. Only 23 M1A1s were taken out of service in the Gulf[2] and none of these losses resulted in crew deaths from Iraqi fire. Some others took minor combat damage, with little effect on their operational readiness. There were only 3 tank crew members wounded beyond doubt by enemy action (see table below).

The M1A1 was capable of making kills at ranges in excess of 4000 m. This range was crucial combat against tanks of Soviet design in Desert Storm, as the effective range of the main gun in the Soviet/Iraqi tanks was less than 2000 meters. This meant Abrams tanks could hit Iraqi tanks before the enemy got in range – a decisive advantage in this kind of combat.

So, back in the 1960s, when the war in Vietnam was just beginning to escalate, McNamara ordered the weapon not is modified adopted, in its current configuration, for the immediate question with all the services, in spite to receive reports/ratios noting several insufficiencies with M16 as a service rifle, including the lack of a chromium-striped boring and the room, of the 5.56 the instability projectiles of millimeter under Arctic conditions, and the fact that the great quantities of 5.56 millimeters of ammunition required for the immediate service were not available. Moreover, the army insisted on the inclusion of a plunger forwards assistance to help to push the bolt in the battery if a cartridge did not sit in the room by clogging or corrosion. Such a device had been incorporated in the posterior versions of the AR-10, which also had a room chromium-striped to prevent corrosion (Pikula).

The Colt, on the one hand, had discussed to rifle it was a “self-cleaning” design, demanding little or not of maintenance. The Colt, the de noyau tour of Eugene, and the Air Force of the United States believed that a help forwards complicated unnecessarily to rifle it and added approximately $4.50 at its cost with supply, without the true advantage. Consequently, the design was cut in two alternatives: M16 of the Air Force without assistance forwards, and for the other service connects up, the XM16E1 with the assistance forwards. In November 1964, the army orders 85.000 XM16E1s for the experimental use, and the Air Force ordered 19.000 more. While waiting, the army put another project, the small systems of weapons of an arm (SAWS), on the general needs for the weapon with a fire of infantry in an immediate future. They strongly recommended the immediate adoption of the weapon, so much so that they started to refer to it like M16. Later this year the Air Force officially accepted their first group as the United States rifle, gauges 5.56 millimeters, M16.

In the 1960s, the army immediately began with the question the XM16E1 (M16 title on its adoption) with the units of infantry, and to rifle it was at the beginning provided without to provisioning or kit proportioned of cleaning.

Moreover, the incapacity of the army to provide characteristics of quantity and speed of meeting of ammunition of 5.56 millimeters led to a change of the powder specifications for the cartridge of 5.56 millimeters. Unfortunately, the change was made without examining the ammunition modified of shooting under operating conditions. Ammunition 5.56 new-indicated increased the cyclic rate of fire, increasing the use of parts, and news the clogging increased by extreme characteristics powders in an M16 rifle.

“CuQuand” or the XM16E1 reached Vietnam with the United States is assembled in 1966 plays to block and the malfunctions in the combat immediately started to prepare. Although M14 had a barrel and a room chromium-striped to resist corrosion in states of combat (a danger learned from a Pacific experiment of combat of theater of WWII), the M16/XM16E1 did not have any chromium-striped boring or room. Several documented accounts of the troops killed by enemy fire with blocked rifle broken down to clean thereafter brought a congressional research. Investigations also doubts posterior cast iron on the veracity of the reports/ratios of the original 1962 of the effectiveness of stopped of the ball of 5.56 millimeters, as well as the criticism of the unsatisfactory penetration (compared to 7.62 X 39 round Soviet millimeters) when put at fire with the enemy personnel by the light cover. The XM16E1 was modified soon according to specifications’ M16A1.

Revised rifle was finally given a boring and a room chromium-striped to eliminate corrosion and stuck cartridges, and the mechanism of the boring and retreat of the rifle was reorganized to adapt Army-A published 5.56 millimeters of ammunition. To rifle the tools of cleaning and the lubricating powder solvents/were published. The army ordered 840.000 of this version on February 28, 1967. Intensive training schemes in the cleaning of weapons were instituted, and a comic handbook of the model of a book was distributed among the troops to show suitable maintenance. The problems of reliability of M16 decreased quickly, although the reputation of rifle continued to suffer. Moreover, the complaints about the penetration and of the power unsatisfactory of a stop of the cartridge of 5.56 millimeters persisted in all the conflict of Vietnam.

M3 DS Simply – Play Games, Movies, Music And More On Your Nintendo DS Lite

Nintendo DS Lite   Nintendo DS Lite 1

The M3 DS Simply is what’s called a slot 1 homebrew solution for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo DS Lite handheld video game system. The slot 1 part of the name refers to the Nintendo DS game slot on the handheld itself. For those of you reading this and not in the know, the Nintendo DS has 2 cartridge slots. The first one being slot 1 for Nintendo DS games, and the second one being slot 2 for the game boy advance game cartridges.

A slot 1 card is highly coveted because prior to slot 1 solutions, one had to put an oversized Gameboy advance cartridge as well as a Passcard into their Nintendo DS. While this method of homebrew Nintendo ds from playing worked just as well, it was very unsightly, not to mention that it was about twice the price.

The M3 DS Simply allows Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite owners to fully unlock their handheld system. You can load any type of Nintendo DS Roms and homebrew games and applications with just this one cartridge, that looks and acts just like a regular Nintendo DS game cartridge. While this article is not meant to serve as an M3 DS Simply Review, I will be listing the ways by which you use the M3 DS Simply.

The M3 DS Simply is essentially ready to use out of the box, with the exception of a microSD card, which you’ll have to purchase either online or your local radio shack or best buy type store. Included with the M3 DS Simply is a micro sd card reader that plugs into your USB port to allow you to quickly and easily copy game files and homebrew applications directly to the micro sd card.

Just how do you use the M3 DS Simply? It’s rather simple. The M3 DS Simply uses MicroSD memory cards. These work just the same as Secure Digital / SD Cards with the only difference being their size. MicroSD Cards are extremely small in size, yet pack the same amount of storage as their bigger brothers. With the included microSD card reader / writer, you are able to plug your microSD card into any USB port on your computer. You then simply drag and drop the files from your PC to your microSD Card (which will have shown up as a removable disk). Once you’ve selected all the files you want to put on the card (and play on your Nintendo DS) you remove the reader / writer and take out the microSD Card.

The top of the M3 DS Simply, as small as it is, actually has a slot on the top of it where you can insert a microSD card. Amazing when you consider that the M3 DS Simply is no bigger than a regular Nintendo DS Cartridge. Once the microSD card is inserted and the m3 ds simply cartridge is placed into the Nintendo DS, just power up your console, and you’ll be greeted by the M3 DS Simply the main menu.

The main menu of the M3 DS Simply consists of 3 icons. The first icon being the GAME icon, where you can go into the game loader menu, and select from the games you have stored on your microSD Card. You’ll be greeted with a list on the top screen of the Nintendo DS Lite showing the names of the games you have stored. By using your directional pad, you can scroll up or down in the game list and select the game you wish to load by pressing your A button. You’ll be asked to press the A button again if you have not yet created a SAVE FILE for the game. The SAVE FILE is a little file created on the fly on your M3 DS Simply which will store all of your game saves. Once this is done, you’ll see the game loading progress bar in the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS. Games load in just a second or two. This is the place to load you homebrew games or applications.

The second menu option is the MEDIA MANAGER. The Media manager allows you to load your favorite MP3 songs, video files (yes, entire DVD movies can be compressed and put onto your microSD Card) as well as JPG images and ebooks. You’ll have to drag and drop the books, mp3 music or video files from your PC to the microSD card you’ll be using in your M3 DS simply, but that’s essentially it. The application that runs the media manager is called MOONSHELL, and it turns your Nintendo DS Lite into a full blown handheld multimedia entertainment system. If you’re like me and read eBooks on the go, then this is a MUST. And you can toss away your iPod too because your Nintendo DS has just become a portable ebook and music player. Not to mention that fact that you’ll be able to watch your movies on the go, with the built in movie player functionality.

The final option offered by the M3 DS Simply is the BOOT SLOT 2 Option. This option will load whatever game cartridge or flash cartridge you have in Slot 2 of you Nintendo DS Lite. Slot 2 is the Gameboy Advance port on your NDS console. You can even purchase a separate Homebrew cartridge and really unlock the full potential of your Nintendo DS with thousands of Gameboy Advance homebrew games and applications.

In closing, the M3 DS Simply is a must have an accessory that truly unlocks the full potential of your Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite handheld game system. Offering up not only thousands of free homebrew games and applications but adds an entire suite of multimedia features and functions to your Nintendo DS.
